Our Church's Story

blue church 900x500.jpg

In May of 2011, fourteen people met in the living room of the Johnson home in Cambridge, Minnesota for the first service of Liberty Baptist Church. For the first year we met in a variety of different locations, but beginning in June of 2012 we met in the Ogilvie school for three years and prayed the Lord would lead us to some property for a permanent home for the church.

Churches in Kansas and Oklahoma together contributed $30,000, and in September of 2015 we were able to purchase the property we now have in Ogilvie, debt free, for $31,500. The church building was turn-key ready to hold meetings, with nothing lacking but a programmable thermostat. During the next year we remodeled the parsonage, and the pastor's family moved into the house in August of 2016. In 2017 Liberty Baptist Church was scripturally organized.

A Sunday school hour was added to our schedule, and we continue our tradition of food and fellowship after the morning service. We thank the Lord for leading us to Ogilvie, and we desire to be a spiritual help to those in this area of Minnesota.
